Chromotherapy is an original method of helping to heal various disorders. Whether they are of physical or emotional origin, your precious sense of "sight" will be your best ally and at the very heart of this practice. The colours it perceives will directly influence your mind and body.

With this article, you will learn how to solve your problems with the incredible capabilities of sight.

What is chromotherapy?

Chromotherapy (or colour therapy) has a direct action on the organs, physical relaxation, but also on the muscles. This practice will help to channel and manage your emotions, but also to develop your self-confidence. Its virtues are very rich, it improves your concentration and develops your intuition. And finally, sleep is not neglected, on the contrary, because it also benefits from this colour therapy!

What is its origin?

But where does this unusual and original practice come from? We have to go back to the time of the Pharaohs to find the ancestor of this therapy.

It was the Persian philosopher, writer, physician and scientist Avicenna who created the first form of chromotherapy. He created the first correspondence table between colours and body temperatures. His vision is that a person should heal himself by being exposed to the colour opposite to his symptoms. For example, red should be avoided by people who are sanguine and angry, whereas yellow is effective and provides energy.

It was not until much later, in France, that Jean-Michel Weiss enriched the foundations of chromotherapy with his device that could generate up to 1000 colours. He will experiment with his therapy and validate it.

What are the benefits ofchromotherapy ?

Experts in holistic medicine (medicine that takes into account the body and mind of the patient) use colour therapy to treat various illnesses such as stress, depression or localized pain in certain areas of the body.

All colours have a specific effect, and the use of special filters allows these colours to be projected onto the parts of the body to be treated. Indeed, sight has a real role to play, as the perception of the different colours would have an ultra beneficial effect on the patient's mind in relation to fatigue and stress.

Colours are formed by the reflection of light on an object, so the colour waves are all different. They act on 3 levels:

  • The physical level: balancing organs directly
  • The emotional level: act directly on the emotional aspect of the practitioners
  • The symbolic level: the mental aspect of the individual is also concerned

Light rays are often used on the areas of the human body to be treated, it creates shivers on the targeted body part and tends to soothe it.

How is it practiced?

This therapy can be done without a professional and even at home, by a simple visualisation of colours. All you have to do is to fix an object of a specific colour (to be chosen according to the colour chart) and it depends on the desired effect, for example blue will be used to reduce stress.
